Virginia Cedar essential oil is steam distilled from the wood of a slow-growing evergreen tree native to Virginia and other southern states. It has a sedating effect and thus may be helpful for anxiety, nervous tension and poor concentration. It may assist in the healing of upper respiratory ailments. Because of its astringent and antiseptic qualities, it is recommended for skin, scalp and hair care. It is also useful as an insect repellent.
