The Tagetes plant has bright orange daisy-like flowers and is native to South America. It grows wild in South Africa, Asia, Europe and North America. The essential oil is produced in India, South Africa, France, Argentina and Egypt. It is used for fungal infections, calluses, bunions and corns. In addition to being fungicidal, it has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. It should be used with caution on the skin as it may be sensitizing.
