Vitex essential oil is steam distilled from the wild-crafted leaves and berries of the Vitex agnus-castus plant. It is also called Chaste Tree; the Latin binomial comes from the Greek word meaning "chaste." It is used to enhance the production of progesterone and bring balance to the female hormones.
