About the Plant:
The Cedar Leaf tree may be seen planted as a hedge. It is an attractive tree, with scale-like leaves and cones, and grows up to 60 feet high.
Where it Grows:
Cedar Leaf is native to the Northeastern United States. It is also cultivated in Canada and China. Amrita® Aromatherapy is proud to carry Cedar Leaf from Canada.
Traditional Uses and Lore:
Traditionally, the leaves, twigs, and bark were made into decoctions to kill parasites, venereal diseases, warts, and other ailments. Cedar Leaf was also burnt as incense to cleanse the air in ancient rituals.

Cedar Leaf Essential Oil is used primarily as a disinfectant, not as an aromatic oil. Although some aromatherapists may apply a tiny drop to shrink warts, Cedar Leaf is generally avoided because it contains thujone, a toxic chemical.
