The perfect introduction to aromatherapy

Balsam Fir: You can diffuse it, mix it with salt or something like that and use it in a bath or mix it with a carrier oil and use it for massage.

Bergamot: Dilution requirements: Topical Application for localized use on the skin: Dilute up to 0.5% (2.5 drops per tablespoon of carrier oil). See precautions below. Topical Application for whole body massage: Dilute up to 0.5% (2.5 drops per tablespoon of carrier oil). See precautions below. Aromatic Bath: Dilute in bath salts or milk or similar before adding to a full bath. See precautions below. Conditions: Urinary and vaginal infections: Prepare a therapeutic Hip Bath, adding the cleansing drops of Bergamot Essential Oil. Respiratory infections such as tonsillitis: Use Direct Inhalation. For freshening a room with a scent that everyone is sure to enjoy: Use a diffuser. Safety Precautions: Like some other citrus fruits, Bergamot contains a chemical compound called furo-coumarin, which makes skin extremely sensitive to the sun. To protect your skin from burning or discoloration, it is important to not use Bergamot Essential Oil on the skin right before sunbathing. Even when it is diluted, do not expose the skin to sunlight for 12 hours after application. This also applies to UV and infrared treatment. The recommended ratio of dilution is no more than 0.5%.

Cedar, Himalayan: Nervous tension, anger and stress: Aromatic Bath or Whole Body Massage. Discouragement: Diffusion, Topical Application on heart and chest area or Aromatic Bath. Arthritis and rheumatism: Topical Application For a calm, quiet Atmosphere: Diffusion Chronic bronchitis: Direct Inhalation from a diffuser Dandruff, dermatitis and psoriasis: Add Himalayan Cedar Essential Oil to unscented skin and hair products. Safety Precautions: Non-toxic, non-irritant, non-sensitizing. Avoid during pregnancy.

Eucalyptus Globulus, Sweet: Congestion and discomfort due to colds: Diffuse. Diffusing also will kill airborne viruses to help reduce the spread of the flu. Constricted breathing: Topical Application of 3 -5% in jojoba or hazelnut oil applied to chest Skin infections, blisters and ulcers: Add a few drops to a basin of water and cleanse skin with the water, or use a warm compress. Sore muscles: Topical Application of 3 -5% in jojoba or hazelnut oil Repelling insects: Topical Application of 3 -5% in jojoba or hazelnut oil Lice: Add 2% to any carrier oil and massage onto head. Leave on for at least an hour. Neuralgia: Topical Application of 3 -5% in jojoba or hazelnut oil Safety Precautions: Not appropriate for use with babies and small children. Toxic if taken internally, and even small amounts can be fatal.

Geranium - Rose: For Topical Application, dilute up to 5% in jojoba or hazelnut oil (unless otherwise indicated below); approximately 25 drops of essential oil per tablespoon of carrier oil. For Whole Body Massage, dilute up to 2% in jojoba or hazelnut oil, approximately 10 drops per tablespoon of essential oil. Hormonal imbalance, water retention: Whole Body Massage, Topical Application or Aromatic Bath. Oily and congested skin: Add to your unscented skincare products. Burns, wounds and ulcers: Cold Compress Sunburn: Topical Application Mature skin, dry skin, wrinkles: Topical Application, diluted to 2% in carrier oil (preferably rose hip seed oil) or your unscented facial care product. Dry, cracked lips: Topical Application, diluted to a total of 2% in Jojoba oil. Jet lag: Diffusion at night, Aromatic Bath or Topical Application on the heart, chest and head area. Menopause: Diffusion, Whole Body Massage, Topical Application or Aromatic Bath. Anxiety, depression, stress, tension, problems relaxing and other nervous system conditions: Diffusion, Whole Body Massage, Topical Application on whole frontal line or Aromatic Bath. Safety Precautions: While it is non-toxic, non-irritating and generally non-sensitizing, Rose Geranium can cause dermatitis in sensitive individuals.

Lavender Extra: Burns, cuts, scars: Topical Application diluted 5% in carrier oil. If the wound is open, use undiluted in minute quantities. Helichrysum is preferable for larger injuries. Sore muscles: Topical Application diluted 3-5% in carrier oil. Anxiety: Diffusion, Topical Application diluted 5% in carrier oil, Aromatic Bath. Sleep disturbances: Diffusion, Topical Application diluted 3-5% in carrier oil. Safety Precautions: Generally non-irritating, non-sensitizing, and nontoxic. Be confident you are using true Lavender Oil, as Lavender is one of the most frequently adulterated essential oils.

Orange, Sweet: Cellulite: Massage, Aromatic Bath, add to shower gel. Nerves, tension, uptightness, feeling withdrawn, fear of the unknown: Diffusion, Aromatic Bath. Insomnia: Diffusion. Feeling down or winter blues: Diffusion. Lymph sluggishness, swollen tissue: Massage. Constipation: Topical Application. Sluggish digestive system: Topical Application. Air clearing: Diffusion. Safety Precautions: Nontoxic, non-irritant, non-sensitizing.

Peppermint: For use on the skin (Topical Application), dilute up to 3-5% in jojoba or hazelnut oil. For Whole Body Massage, use no more than 2%; 2% is approximately 1 teaspoon (5ml) of essential oil per 1 cup (250ml) of carrier oil, or about 10 drops essential oil to a tablespoon (15 ml) of carrier oil. Nausea, vomiting: Direct Inhalation from the diffuser, or when traveling, a few drops on a tissue, or 1 drop on tongue. Mental fatigue: Diffusion or Topical Application on forehead, 3 "“ 5% in any carrier oil. Migraines, headaches, fainting, vertigo and other nervous disorders: In the Diffusion or Topical Application on forehead, temples or wherever the headache resides, 3 "“ 5% in any carrier oil. Colds, sore throat, flu and respiratory conditions: Direct Inhalation from the diffuser. Excessive sweating: A total of 1-2% added to your unscented personal care product. Acne: A total of 2% in a carrier oil or your unscented facial care product. Ringworm, scabies, dermatitis, psoriasis: Topical Application. Muscle pain, neuralgia: Topical Application, 3-5% in jojoba or hazelnut oil. Bronchitis: Topical Application on chest and back, a total of 3-5% in jojoba or hazelnut oil. Stuffy nose and mucous congestion: Steam Inhalation. Asthma: Direct Inhalation from the diffuser on a regular basis. Fever: Diffusion or Topical Application on whole frontal line and forehead. (The frontal line runs from the heart area upwards and downwards. It extends from the front of the neck to the pubic bone, parallel to the spine.) Palpitations: Whole Body Massage. Indigestion, colic, cramps, intestinal gas: Topical Application, Aromatic Bath. Safety Precautions: Peppermint is non-toxic and non-irritant, except in concentration. The menthol contained in Peppermint is a dermal irritant, so avoid contact with eyes, skin and mucous membranes. May cause sensitization in some individuals. It is a stimulating oil; therefore, it is not advised for use in the evening or at bedtime, as it may cause insomnia.

Rosemary, Cineol 1.8: Dandruff, lice, oily hair, insect repellent: Topical Application. Amenorrhea, dysmenorrhea: Whole Body Massage, Aromatic Bath, Topical Application. Asthma, bronchitis, colds, cough, sinus problems, hysteria: Direct Inhalation, Steam Inhalation. Colitis, constipation, diarrhea, flatulence, flu, jaundice: Topical Application, Compress. Fainting, nervous disorders, exhaustion: Diffusion, Whole Body Massage, Aromatic Bath. Memory loss, mental fatigue, neuralgia, migraine: Diffusion Muscle aches and pains, circulation, varicose veins, rheumatism, arthritis: Topical Application, Compress, Whole Body Massage, Aromatic Bath. Safety Precautions: Non-toxic, non-irritant (in dilution), non-sensitizing. Avoid use if you have epilepsy, high blood pressure or are pregnant. Rosemary oil should not be used on children who are 3 years of age or younger.

Ylang Ylang Complete: For a sensual and romantic bath, add a few drops of Ylang Ylang to a cup of milk and add to bathwater. To create an uplifting and calming home or workspace, add a few drops into a diffuser and enjoy. For relief from PMS and menopausal symptoms, mix Ylang Ylang with a carrier oil and enjoy a nourishing massage. Safety Precautions: Ylang Ylang Complete is nontoxic and non-irritant, with possible sensitization. Use in moderation. Excessive use could cause headaches and nausea.

Balsam, Fir: Balsam Fir essential oil is steam distilled from the needles and twigs of the Canadian and northeast American balsam fir tree. It has been used for centuries by Native Americans for medicine and in religious ceremonies. It is used for chest colds, bronchitis and asthma and other conditions of the upper and lower respiratory tract. It may also help with arthritis, rheumatism and other forms of joint pain. Balsam Fir is used in anti-anxiety blends due to its elevating, strengthening quality. Its wonderful scent purifies the air and is often included in blends to diffuse over the holidays.

Bergamot: Bergamot Essential Oil is a refreshing, citrus scent to uplift one's mood, aid digestion and revitalize the body. It is often used as a fragrance in fine cosmetics. It is equally treasured for its mental benefits as well as its physical benefits. Below is a list of benefits that Bergamot Essential Oil provides relief for, by category.
