About the plant:
Spearmint Organic Essential Oil: An aromatic, stomachic (i.e. aids digestion), stimulant, antiseptic and local anesthetic good for acne and congested skin with an uplifting effect on the nervous system.
Where it grows:
The spearmint plant is native to Europe but is now common in North America and Asia. The U.S. is the major producer of Spearmint essential oil, which is steam distilled from the fresh flowering tops.
Traditional uses and lore:
Its most common use at this time is as a flavoring in toothpastes, chewing gum, candy and mouthwash.
